Visokio Privacy Policy Statement

What we do with data about you, and data you may send to us

Protecting the privacy and data belonging to our clients and users of our apps and sites is important to Visokio. This Privacy Policy describes how we use and protect any information or data files you provide to us.

Users of our installed products

Aside from the Omniscope Classic Viewer, all users of our installed products, Omniscope (Evo and Classic) are required to register for a free trial or purchase a license which must be activated. In order for us to provide, deliver, support and maintain these products, you must supply personal data (name, email, company) which we retain securely and confidentially. Additionally, Omniscope installations will periodically send your license data and an anonymous device/installation identifier to services.visokio.com, to allow us to monitor and police software licensing; this data is not retained long-term, and is automatically deleted within 2 weeks.

Diagnostic data

Omniscope installations collect data locally (on the device Omniscope is installed upon) for your own use to analyse your own installation’s performance and behaviour. This data includes logs and error reports, and is never sent automatically to us. As part of a software support incident, we may ask you to send some of this diagnostic data to us, and this is entirely optional. Anything you do send will be retained securely and confidentially, only for the duration of the support ticket, then deleted, and never shared with 3rd parties.

Sharing data with us

The security of information transmitted through the Internet can never be guaranteed. Visokio data files provide many safeguards to prevent unauthorised access and re-use of the data within. If you send us files containing your data, you are responsible for employing the available security measures appropriate to prevent unauthorised access in the event the file(s) you send us are intercepted by unauthorised parties. Visokio is not responsible for any interception or interruption of any communications through the Internet or for changes to or losses of data. Users of our files and site(s) are responsible for maintaining the security of any password, user ID, or other form of authentication involved in obtaining access to password-protected or domain-locked files, or the secure areas of any Visokio site(s). In order to protect you and your data, Visokio may suspend your use of a site, without notice, pending an investigation, if any breach of security is suspected.

Restricted areas

Access to, and use of, password-protected and/or secured areas of any Visokio site is restricted to authorised users only. Unauthorised access to such areas is prohibited and may lead to a civil action and/or criminal prosecution.

Website visitors

Visitors to our public web site are tracked as anonymised data about broad geo-location, device and interactions, for the sole purpose of improving our services.

Data collection

We collect only the email addresses of those who communicate with us via email, and aggregate information on which pages users access or visit. Further user-specific information is collected only from pages where information is volunteered by the visitor, such as our helpdesk, enquiry forms, surveys and file download/free trial registrations. The information we collect is for internal use only, to provide our services, and for improving client service and the content of our Web Sites, and may be used by us to contact visitors for marketing purposes, or for updating our existing and past users (licensees and free trialists) with news about product updates. We do not sell or allow third parties to use the names or other information we collect, unless required by law or with your explicit permission.

If you do not want to receive marketing and related emails from us in the future, you may use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.
